Standard Zonal Analysis

You can perform a standard zonal analysis for any zone in the Zonal-L/HIRF hierarchy. (The standard analysis will always be an option, regardless of how you answer the zonal analysis selection questions.)

The rating system is configurable at the database level. (See Configurable Options for Zonal and L/HIRF Analysis.) This topic describes:

Adding or Deleting an Analysis

To add a new standard zonal analysis tab, select a zone in the Zonal-L/HIRF hierarchy and choose Zones > Analyses > Add Standard Zonal Analysis.

To delete an analysis, select a tab in the Analysis panel and then choose Zones > Analyses > Delete Analysis. (Remember there is no undo for delete.)

Using the Zonal (Standard) Tab

Top Section: Properties/Ratings

The top section of the standard zonal analysis tab contains the following rating system.

The Density/Accidental Damage score is assigned based on a scoring matrix that considers the density rating and the worst accidental damage rating for any of the damage types. You can click the icon to see the matrix.

The Overall score is assigned based on a scoring matrix that considers the combined density/accidental damage score and the worst rating for any of the environmental hostility types. You can click the icon to see the matrix.

Bottom Section: Tasks

The bottom section of the tab allows you to define any maintenance tasks that are recommended based on the standard zonal analysis.

To add a new task, choose Zones > Tasks > Add Task.

To view or edit the properties of an existing task, select the row and double-click or choose Zones > Tasks > Edit Task.

Finally, you have the option to copy the properties from an existing task in the current project that has been marked a zonal inspection program (ZIP) candidate. To do this, choose Zones > Tasks > Transfer Zonal Candidate Tasks.

For information about the task properties, see Zonal Analysis Tasks. For information about transferring ZIP candidate task properties, see Transfer Zonal Candidate GVI Tasks.
