The Configurable Options for Zonal and L/HIRF Analysis window allows you to customize some of the settings for the standard zonal, enhanced zonal and L/HIRF analyses that you can perform for any zone. These preferences apply to all zonal analyses in the current database.
To access the window, choose Zones > Tools > Configurable Options.
The following analysis settings are configurable:
Your selection for this option determines whether the task numbers will be based on the zone number only without regards to the analysis type or on the zone number and the analysis type.
The Ratings area will be enable if you have selected any of the analysis types in the panel below. For example, if you have selected to configure the settings for a standard zonal analysis, this area will be called "Standard Zonal Analysis Ratings." If you have selected to configure the enhanced zonal analysis scoring system, this area will be called "Enhanced Zonal Analysis Ratings," and if you have selected L/HIRF, it will be called "L/HIRF Analysis Ratings."
Your selection for this option will determine whether the rating scales used in the currently selected analysis will be configured to provide three or four ratings in each drop-down list and score matrix.
If you decide to switch from the default 3-point rating scales to use 4-point scales instead, you will be prompted to add a fourth option to every rating scale and matrix before you can close the window.
The panels in the middle of the window allow you to customize some of the settings for zonal analyses.
When you select Equipment Installed, the right panel displays a list of pieces of equipment pieces that can be installed in the zone. These options are displayed in a drop-down list in the Equipment Installed field on the Zonal Item properties. You can use the buttons on the bottom of the panel to delete rows, insert rows and change the row order.
The remaining options allow you to configure any of the damage/hostility types, rating scales and score matrices used for Standard Zonal Analysis Ratings, Enhanced Zonal Analysis Ratings and L/HIRF Analysis Ratings. As an example, we will discuss the configuration options for L/HIRF analysis here. The options are similar for standard zonal analysis and enhanced zonal analysis.
The tree on the left side of the window shows five configurable elements for L/HIRF analysis, as shown next.
When you select Susceptibility to Damage Types or Hostility of Environment Types, the panel on the right displays the list of damage/hostility types that users will be asked to rate for any L/HIRF analysis performed in the current database. You can click inside any row to edit the text that is displayed in the analysis tab. You can also use the buttons on the bottom of the panel to delete rows, insert rows and change the row order.
When you select Susceptibility to Damage or Hostility of Environment, the right panel displays the rating scale that will be used to rate each damage or hostility type in the list.
Finally, when you select Hostility of Environment/Susceptibility to Damage, the right panel displays the scoring matrix that will be used to convert the susceptibility to damage and hostility of environment ratings into an overall score for the L/HIRF analysis.
The following picture show a matrix for three point rating scales. In this case, the matrix assigns a score of 3 if both the susceptibility to damage and hostility of environment are assigned to the lowest ratings. You can change the score labels to fit the particular rating system used by your organization.
If you click the Set as default for future repositories button, the application will save the current list to the MPCDefaults.mpd9 file on your computer (C:\User\uname\Documents\ReliaSoft\MPC9). Any further databases that you create from this computer will use this saved customized list by default.
