The objective of life data analysis is to fit a statistical distribution to failure time data in order to understand the reliability performance of a product over time or to make projections about future behavior. From the analysis, you can estimate several life characteristics, such as probability of failure, reliability, mean life or failure rate.
The Weibull++ standard folio for life data analysis is the most basic folio in the application. The following topics describe how to use the folio for performing an analysis:
Analyzing life data, including:
Using subset IDs.
Using the control panel and choosing the analysis settings.
Generating life data analysis plots.
Performing reliability calculations via the Quick Calculation Pad (QCP).
Additional analysis tools, including:
Choosing a life distribution via the Distribution Wizard.
Extracting subsets of data via the batch auto run process.
Evaluating the fit of a distribution with the Goodness of Fit Results tool.
Grouping together data points via the Auto Group Data tool.
Special analysis methods, including:
What-if analysis, including:
Using the Specify Points feature to adjust a rank regression analysis.
Using the Fill Median Ranks feature to obtain an unreliability estimate of a failure.
