The control panel in the overlay plot is similar to the control panel in standard plots. However, the control panel in the overlay plot allows you to select multiple diagrams to be displayed in a single plot.
The control panel tools include the following options:
Plot Type allows you to choose the plot type you want to view in the plot sheet. Choose a plot type from the drop-down list. For more information about the available plot types, refer to the specific topic covering the diagram type.
Units (available for all analytical plots and for simulation System plots) allows you to choose the units to display the plot in. Choose the unit from the drop-down list.
Auto Refresh if selected, automatically refreshes the plot if any changes are made to the plot.
Keep Aspect Ratio if selected, the proportion of horizontal size to vertical size will remain constant when you resize the plot. If not selected, the plot graphic will stretch to fill the window if the window is resized.
Scaling (available for all plots)
X and Y Scaling Boxes shows the minimum and maximum values for the x- and y-axes. You can change these values if the check box beside the value range is not selected. If it is selected, the software will automatically choose appropriate values for the range.
Other
Show Intervals (available only for the Cost, Mean Availability, System Failures and Throughput plots) shows the time intervals used on the plot. The number of intervals is set by the simulation settings.
Resolution (available for the Unreliability vs. Time, Reliability vs. Time, PDF Plot and Failure Rate vs. Time plots) allows you to specify how many points are used to construct the plot. You can specify any number between 2 and 300.
Available Results (available only for System Bubble plots) allows you to specify which the values the x-axis, y-axis and bubble size will be based on.
Select Diagrams opens the Select Diagrams window, which allows you to select diagrams from any RBD, fault tree or phase diagram in the project for inclusion in the overlay plot. The diagrams selected for inclusion will be displayed in the Select Diagrams area. To remove a diagram from the overlay plot, click Select Diagrams and clear the diagram's check box.
The folio tools are arranged on the left side of the control panel:
Redraw Plot updates the plot to reflect any changes that have been made.
Plot Setup opens the Plot Setup window, which allows you to customize most aspects of the plot including the titles, colors, sizes, etc.
RS Draw launches ReliaSoft Draw, which allows you to view the plot in greater detail, add annotations and modify selected plot elements.
Export Plot Graphic allows you to save the current plot graphic in one of the following formats: *.jpg, *.gif, *.png or *.wmf.
