The control panel tools include the following options:
The Plot Type drop-down list provides a choice of applicable plots. To learn more about the selected plot, click the blue (i) icon. This area also contains an indicator light that displays the status of the top level item(s) it is associated with. If the light is green, then the plot reflects the current state of the top level item. If the light is red, then changes have been made to the top level item(s) or subsidiary items since the plot was last updated and you will have to update the plot by refreshing it.
The Plot Style drop-down list allows you to choose the style in which the plot is presented. The options in the drop-down list vary depending on the plot type that you have selected and may include:
Bar Chart
Pie Chart
Line Plot
Strata Graph
Auto Refresh automatically redraws the plot when something changes. If not selected, you must click the Redraw Plot icon to refresh the display.
Keep Aspect Ratio maintains the ratio of the horizontal size to the vertical size of the plot graphic when you resize the plot sheet.
Include Top Level shows the selected top level item(s) on the plot.
Include Blocks shows the block(s) within the top level item(s) on the plot.
Include Components shows the component(s) within the top level item(s) on the plot.
Group allows you to group the data shown on the plot. You can choose to group by category, logistic control number (LCN), part number or reference designator, or to use no grouping.
Click ... to open the Select Group window, which allows you to specify the groups that will be included in the plot if have chosen to group the plot data.
The Available area on the left displays all groups (categories, LCNs, part numbers or circuit references, depending on how you have chosen to group the plot) that are available for inclusion but not actually included in the plot. The Selected area on the right displays the groups that are currently included in the plot. You can move an item from one area to the other either by double-clicking the item or by using the Include (>) or Exclude (<) icon between the areas. You can also move all items from one area to the other by using the Include All (>>) or Exclude All (<<) icon.
In the Range area, the Min, Max and Steps fields determine the range used on the x-axis of the plot. The options in this area are available only for temperature, current stress, power stress and voltage stress plots. You will need to specify the minimum and maximum values for the x-axis as well as the number of steps into which the x-axis is divided.
Click Environment to open the Environment Settings window, which allows you to select which environments will be included/excluded in the plot. This option is available only for environment plots.
Click Mission Phase to open the Mission Phase window, which allows you to define mission phases for use in the plot. This option is available only for mission phase plots.
In the Scaling area, the X and Y Scaling boxes show the minimum and maximum values for the x- and y-axes. The x scaling boxes are enabled only when you are working with a bar chart and have chosen to use horizontal bars on the Bars page of the Plot Setup.
The folio tools are arranged on the left side of the control panel:
Redraw Plot updates the plot to reflect the changes that have been made.
Plot Setup opens the Plot Setup window, which allows you to customize most aspects of the plot including the titles, colors, sizes, etc.
RS Draw launches ReliaSoft Draw, which allows you to view the plot in greater detail, add annotations and modify selected plot elements.
Export Plot Graphic saves the plot as a graphic in one of the following formats: *.wmf, *.png, *.gif or *.jpg. You will be able to use the exported graphic in any application, provided that the application supports the file format.
Copy Plot Graphic copies the plot to the Clipboard. You can then paste the graphic into another application. The way the plot is copied will depend on your selection in the Plot Copy Type field in the Synthesis Setup window.
Copy Plot Data copies the data on which the plot is based to the Clipboard.
Print prints the current plot graphic.
Save Plot saves the current plot.
