Building RBDs and Fault Trees from Xfmea/RCM++/RBI |
||
The integration of the Synthesis applications makes it easy for you to import data from your analyses in the Synthesis versions of Xfmea, RCM++, RBI or Lambda Predict and create RBDs and/or fault trees that allow you to perform more in-depth calculations. Two possibilities exist:
You can import items from analyses in other Synthesis applications in the current project, along with their reliability data, and create diagrams that reflect the items' reliability-wise relationships.
When importing from Xfmea/RCM++/RBI, you can create either fault trees or RBDs.
When importing from Lambda Predict, you can create RBDs.
You can import records to create a fault tree based on the effects in analyses performed in other Synthesis applications in the current project.
IMPORTANT: These tools are intended to provide a quick and easy way to bring data from other Synthesis applications into BlockSim, and to create diagrams that can be used as starting points for analyses within BlockSim. BlockSim is capable of modeling very complex configurations, and you may wish to make changes to the diagrams before analyzing or simulating them in BlockSim so that your results more accurately represent the real-world configuration of your systems. For example, the FMRA in Xfmea, RCM++ and RBI assumes that all items are in series configurations, so all diagrams created using these tools represent series configurations unless you subsequently modify them.
Note: For blocks and diagrams representing FMEA records (i.e., functions, failures or causes), the names/descriptions are based on the Short Description field for the record.
