Home Tab

The Home tab contains the following commands:

Clipboard

Paste pastes the contents of the Clipboard into the current diagram. Choosing Paste With Duplicate Resources allows you to create an exact duplicate of the pasted block's resources. The duplicate universal reliability definition (URD) of the pasted block will have the same name as the original URD with an increment number added to the end (e.g., URD1_1, URD 1_2, etc.). The duplicate resource will also appear in the Resource Manager window.

Cut cuts the selected text or graphic to the Clipboard. Data stored on the Clipboard can be pasted into this and other applications.

Copy copies the selected text or graphic to the Clipboard. Data stored on the Clipboard can be pasted into this and other applications. If you are copying a plot, the way the plot is copied will depend on your selection in the Copy Plot Graphic setting in the Application Setup window.

Format Painter allows you to copy the block properties from one block and apply them to another block in the current diagram or to copy the format properties of text in a spreadsheet and apply it to other text.

- To use the Format Painter in a diagram, select the block with the properties that are to be copied and then select Format Painter. The pointer will turn into a pointing hand. Next, click the block to which the properties are to be applied. The Format Painter Settings window will appear, which allows you to select the properties of the source block that you want to be applied to the destination block.
- To use the Format Painter in a spreadsheet, select the text with the format properties that are to be copied and then select Format Painter. Next, click the text to which the format properties are to be applied.

Edit

Delete deletes the selected blocks.

Clear

- Clear All deletes the contents and format of the selected cell(s), but does not delete the actual cell(s).
- Clear Values deletes only the contents of the selected cell(s). The format will be retained.
- Clear Formats deletes only the format of the selected cell(s). The contents will be retained.

Select All selects all of the blocks in the diagram.

Find allows you to quickly find text/values in the active diagram. You can limit your search to within a particular block property (e.g., block caption, block description, etc.), and select whether to limit the result to text that have the same case (Match case) and/or limit the results to text/values that are identical to the search term (Find whole field only).

Spelling activates the Spell Check utility, which allows you to check the spelling within the current sheet.

Insert

Project Item Wizard opens the Project Item Wizard, which provides information about all the analyses that you could add to the project and guides you through any steps required to configure the analysis that you have selected.

Insert Gallery displays icons of the analyses, plots and diagrams that you could add to the project. Click the More arrow to view the full gallery.

Diagrams

Analytical RBD adds an analytical reliability block diagram to the project.

Analytical Fault Tree adds an analytical fault tree to the project.

Simulation RBD add a simulation reliability block diagram to the project.

Simulation Fault Tree adds a simulation fault tree to the project.

Phase Diagram adds a phase diagram to the project.

Process Flow Simulation adds a process flow simulation diagram to the project.

RENO Flowchart adds a RENO flowchart to the project.

Markov - Continuous adds a continuous Markov diagram to the project.

Markov - Discrete adds a discrete Markov diagram to the project.

Tools

Allocation Analysis adds an allocation analysis tool to the project.

Build from Synthesis

Build RBDs and FTs from Synthesis opens a setup window that allows you to create diagrams based on items imported from XFMEA, RCM++ or RBI or on items imported from Lambda Predict.

Build Effect FTs from Synthesis opens a setup window that allows you to create fault trees based on effects.

Reports and Plots

FRED Report adds a FRED report to the project.

Fault Tree Tracer adds a fault tree tracer to the project. This tool provides a way to visualize how fault tree subdiagrams fit into a parent fault tree.

Synthesis Workbook adds a Synthesis Workbook to the project. A Synthesis Workbook is a custom reporting tool that contains both spreadsheet and word processing modules.

Overlay Plot adds an overlay plot to the project that allows you to display in a single plot results from multiple diagrams. This provides an easy visual method to compare analyses. For example, you may wish to show the reliability plots of two product designs in the same plot.

3D Plot adds a 3D plot to the project. 3D plots can be based only on RENO flowcharts.

Simulation Worksheets

Add Simulation Worksheet adds a simulation worksheet to the project that allow you to vary values that are used in simulating a simulation RBD or a RENO flowchart. This allows you to investigate the effect of one or more settings on the simulation results.

Attachments

Attachment adds linked or attached files to the project.

Synthesis

Resource Manager opens the Resource Manager window, which allows you to view and edit all of the resources (URDs, models, tasks, etc.) available to the selected project. This command is not available in MPC.

Batch Properties Editor opens the Batch Properties Editor, which allows you to perform batch editing of most types of local resources in the current project. In BlockSim, it also allows you to edit the blocks used in the diagrams. This command is not available in MPC.

Actions Explorer allows you to explore all of the action resources that are stored in the current database. You can filter and sort by date, status, person responsible, relevancy to you, etc. (See Actions Explorer.)

Synthesis Explorer allows you to explore all of the different analyses that are stored in the current database. You can filter, group and sort the analyses in a flexible grid, and also present the information in a wide variety of dashboard charts. (See Synthesis Explorer.)

Block Explorer allows you to explore all of the blocks that are used in RBDs or fault trees in the current database. You can filter, group and sort the blocks by project, diagram, block, analysis creator, etc. (See Block Explorer.)

Launch Application provides a drop-down list of the other ReliaSoft desktop applications that are installed on your computer. When you click an icon, the same database will be opened automatically in the new application.
