The integration of the Synthesis-enabled applications makes it easy for you to import data from your analyses in Xfmea 8 or RCM++ 8 and create RBDs and/or fault trees that allow you to perform more in-depth calculations. Two possibilities exist:
You can import items from the FMRA hierarchy, along with their reliability data, and create either fault trees or RBDs that reflect the items' reliability-wise relationships.
You can import FMEA records to create a fault tree based on the effects in the FMEA.
IMPORTANT: These tools are intended to provide a quick and easy way to bring data from Xfmea 8 or RCM++ 8 into BlockSim 8, and to create diagrams that can be used as starting points for analyses within BlockSim. Because the FMRA in Xfmea and RCM++ assumes that all items are in series configurations, all diagrams created using these tools represent series configurations. BlockSim is capable of modeling significantly more complex configurations, and you may wish to make changes to the diagrams before analyzing or simulating them in BlockSim so that your results more accurately represent the real-world configuration of your systems.
Note: For blocks and diagrams representing FMEA records (i.e., functions, failures or causes), the names/descriptions are based on the Short Description field for the record.
