The Settings page of Xfmea/RCM++/RBI's Application Setup allows you to set some other preferences that are applicable only to Xfmea/RCM++/RBI.
General
Maximum number of results returned by queries allows you to choose the maximum number of results to display when you are using the Query Utility.
By default, you can have multiple projects open at the same time. To allow only one open project at a time, clear the Allow multiple open projects check box.
Select the Hide reliability nodes on item properties check box if you wish to hide the Operation, Reliability/Availability and Reliability Policy areas on the Properties tab of the Analysis panel. These areas can be used to define the reliability and maintenance characteristics of the selected item for use in criticality analysis, RCM cost/availability calculations and/or the FMRA. Note that you can still work with the reliability policy by using the Failure Modes and Reliability analysis (FMRA).
Select the Enable MIL-1629A Criticality check box if you wish to be able to access the MIL-1629A Criticality Analysis utility. This utility provides an alternative to the standard criticality analysis that is performed directly in the FMRA. Refer to Criticality Analysis for more details.
Select the Use 'display name' from interface style for FMEA commands/windows check box if you wish to use the display name from the interface style (which is configurable for each project), rather than the property name (which is the same for each project) for the FMEA Ribbon commands and properties windows. (This option is available in 9.0.2 and higher.)
Exponential Parameter allows you to specify whether lambda or mean time will be used to define probability models that use an exponential distribution.
Numeric Display
Displayed Math Precision allows you to set the mathematical, decimal tolerance shown in the FMRA view and with the mode criticality and item criticality used with criticality analysis. Please note that the tolerance on the precision is limited by Windows to 15 digits.
Scientific Notation Tolerance sets the point at which the software will switch to scientific notation for the calculated results.
To automatically add an FMEA and create a default function for newly created system hierarchy items, select the Create Default Function for New Items option and enter the default text in the Description field.
