Custom Report Templates

When you are using the Custom Reports feature to create your own custom reports for an aircraft systems and powerplant analysis, you can:

Report Templates Manager

To manage the custom report templates that are currently available, click the Report Templates Manager button at the bottom of the Custom Reports window.

If you are working with an enterprise database, the templates will be stored directly within the enterprise database, and therefore the same custom report forms will be available to all database users (if the creator selected the Show to all repository users check box when creating the report template).

If you are working with a standard database, the templates will be stored in the standalone template file (*.mprt9) that is currently active on your computer. If multiple users need to share the same custom report forms, you can store this file in a shared network location that is accessible to all users. Each person can use the address bar at the top of the Report Templates Manager window to specify which *.mprt9 file is currently active for his/her computer.

When you are using a standalone template file, you can also use the Reset Templates button if you want to restore a copy of the original MPRUT.mprt9 file that was installed with the software. This action will not override any custom report templates that you might have created in the original MPRUT.mprt9 file. If a file with the same name already exists in the default location, the application will create a new file with an incremental file name (e.g., MPRUT1.mprt9).

The table shows a list of the custom report templates that are currently available.

Report Templates Window

The Report Template window allows you to create your own report templates from scratch or to edit an existing custom template. It is accessed by clicking the Add button or the Edit button on the Report Templates Manager.

On the left side of the window, specify a name (required) and description (optional) that will identify the custom template. The rest of the window is made up of three tabs.

Import Templates Window

The Import Templates window imports templates from another standalone templates file (*.mprt9) or enterprise database (*.rserp). It is accessed by clicking the Import button on the Templates Manager.

In the Templates File to Import From field, you can use the arrow to select from a list of recently accessed files/databases or click the ... button to browse for the desired file.

The table displays a list of the templates that have been defined in the selected file or database. Select the templates that you want to import. You can select or clear the check box in the Name column header to select or clear all of the templates.

Click OK to start the import.
