L/HIRF Protection System Properties

The L/HIRF Protection System Properties window allows you describe an L/HIRF protection system used in the zone. These systems help to avoid, eliminate or reduce the consequences of a lightning/high intensity radiated field (L/HIRF) event.

To add a new protection system description, choose Zones > L/HIRF Protection > Add Protection System.

The following fields are available:

• General

• • Description: The name and/or description of the protection system.

  • Ref #: The protection system's reference number.

  • Location: The physical place on the aircraft where the protection system is located.

• Components

• • Internal LRU Components: The internal LRU components (line replaceable units) that are part of the protection system.

  • External Components: The external components that are part of the protection system.

• Protection Characteristics

• • Characteristics: The protection system's characteristics that might be susceptible to environmental deterioration and accidental damage.

  • Degradation: The ways that the protection system could be degraded and how the factors that could cause degradation might be detected.

• Other

• • Remarks: Any additional comments about the protection system.
