In the Plot page of the Allocation window, you can create plots for any of the allocation types that have at least one block selected to be included in the analysis. In other words, even though the Allocation page shows the inputs and results for only one allocation analysis at a time, the last inputs/results from other allocation types are stored in the utility and those results can be displayed on the Plot page, if desired.
To access the Allocation window's plot sheet, click the Plot icon on the control panel.
The control panel tools include the following options:
The Allocation Type drop-down list allows you to choose which type of allocation analysis to view. If the plot cannot be generated, a message will appear in the plot area and you will need to return to the Allocation page and make sure that at least one block is selected to be included in the analysis for the selected allocation type. You may need to redraw the plot when you return to the plot sheet.
The following options are available in the Plot Type drop-down list:
Allocated vs. Current: For each block included in the allocation analysis, the allocated failure rate and the current failure rate are displayed side-by-side as vertical bars.
Difference: For each block included in the allocation analysis, the plot displays the difference, in failures per million hours, between the allocated failure rate and the current failure rate as a vertical bar.
Auto Refresh automatically redraws the plot when something changes. If not selected, you must click the Redraw Plot icon to refresh the display.
Keep Aspect Ratio maintains the ratio of the horizontal size to the vertical size of the plot graphic when you resize the plot sheet.
For the x-axis labels, choose to display either the Name or Part Number.
In the Scaling area, the X and Y Scaling boxes show the minimum and maximum values for the x- and y-axes. You can change these values if the check box beside the value range is not selected. If it is selected, the application will automatically choose appropriate values for the range.
The plot tools are arranged on the left side of the control panel:
Redraw Plot updates the plot to reflect any changes that have been made.
Plot Setup opens the Plot Setup window, which allows you to customize most aspects of the plot including the titles, colors, sizes, etc.
RS Draw launches ReliaSoft Draw, which allows you to view the plot in greater detail, add annotations and modify selected plot elements.
Copy Plot Graphic copies the plot to the Clipboard. You can then paste the graphic into another application. The way the plot is copied will depend on your selection in the Plot Copy Type field in the Synthesis Setup window.
Export Plot Graphic saves the plot as a graphic in one of the following formats: *.wmf, *.png, *.gif or *.jpg. You will be able to use the exported graphic in any application, provided that the application supports the file format.
