You can create and view plots for Markov diagrams by clicking the Plot icon located on the Analytical page of the control panel.
If you click the Plot icon before the diagram has been analyzed, it will automatically be analyzed and then the data will be plotted in the plot sheet. (Note that the Plot icon on the Plot sheet control panel refreshes the plot. If data or analysis settings have been changed since the diagram was last analyzed, you must reanalyze before refreshing the plot.)
You can add additional plot sheets to the diagram by right-clicking the sheet index tabs at the bottom of the window and choosing Insert Analytical Plot on the shortcut menu. You can delete a plot sheet from the diagram by selecting the plot sheet, right-clicking and choosing Delete Plot.
The plots available for Markov diagrams depend on whether the diagram is discrete or continuous.
State Mean Probability shows the mean probability of the system being in each state.
State Point Probability shows the probability of the system being in each state at each given step. When you first select the plot, you must specify which states to include by using the Available States area of the control panel. You can change the sort order of the list by clicking the Sort List icon to open the Sort List window.
Tip: When you point to the Sort List icon, a tooltip will appear that shows the current selections in the Sort List window.
System Plots
Point Availability shows the system's point availability over time. The point availability is the probability that the system will be operational (in an available state) at any given time. This measure includes return from unavailable states.
Point Reliability shows the system's point reliability over time. The point reliability is the probability that the system has not failed (i.e., has never entered an unavailable state) by a given time. This measure assumes no return from unavailable states.
Both Point A and R shows the system's point availability over time and the system's point reliability over time on the same plot.
State Plots
State Mean Probability shows the mean probability of the system being in each state.
State Cost shows the cost accrued due to the system being in each state.
State Point Probability (Av) shows the probability over time of the system being in each state when all transitions are considered. When you first select the plot, you must specify which states to include by using the Available States area of the control panel. You can change the sort order of the list by clicking the Sort List icon to open the Sort List window.

State Point Probability (Rel) shows the probability over time of the system being in each state when transitions from unavailable states are ignored. When you first select the plot, you must specify which states to include by using the Available States area of the control panel. You can change the sort order of the list by clicking the Sort List icon.
State Point P (Av) and P (Rel) Shows the point probability both with and without return from unavailable states on the same plot. When you first select the plot, you must specify which states to include by using the Available States area of the control panel. You can change the sort order of the list by clicking the Sort List icon.
